Bad Company’s Rock Hall Fate Hangs in the Balance as Tribute Album Takes Shape
As the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony looms closer, Bad Company’s performance at the event remains a giant question mark. Drummer Simon Kirke recently revealed to Ultimate Classic Rock that although the band has been invited to perform, no final decision has been made.
“They’ve asked us if we’d like to play. That’s yet to be decided,” Kirke explained. If they choose to perform, Kirke emphasized the house band will need a heads-up to learn the songs, joking that Bad Company’s catalog only requires “three chords, maybe four.” Despite the uncertainty, Kirke admitted he hopes the band takes the stage, marking a historic moment for their fans worldwide.
The classic lineup — Kirke, Paul Rodgers, Mick Ralphs, and the late Boz Burrell — will be honored at this year’s ceremony. Ralphs, unfortunately, has faced significant health issues since his 2016 stroke, and Rodgers has battled through several strokes himself. Yet the spirit of Bad Company endures.
Kirke also opened up about the emotional challenge of the induction speech, especially when paying tribute to Ralphs. “I just hope I can hold it together without sort of breaking down,” he said.
Beyond the Hall of Fame buzz, Bad Company is also set to be honored with a tribute album titled Can’t Get Enough: A Tribute to Bad Company, arriving this fall. Rock icons are lining up to reinterpret the band’s legendary hits. Among them, Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott is slated to deliver a heartfelt rendition of “Seagull,” backed by Paul Rodgers on bass and Kirke on drums.
As fans eagerly await the final word on whether Bad Company will hit the Hall of Fame stage, the upcoming tribute album promises to keep their legacy alive, reminding the world why Bad Company remains one of classic rock’s most enduring forces.
Stay tuned—whether it’s three chords or four, Bad Company might just steal the show.
