Aerosmith Legends Reunite: Steven Tyler and Joe Perry Rock San Francisco for Janie’s Fund
After more than a year away from the stage together, rock icons Steven Tyler and Joe Perry electrified fans in San Francisco with a surprise reunion performance at the Janie’s Fund benefit concert on April 30, 2025. This marks the first time the Aerosmith frontmen have performed side by side since their farewell tour was abruptly halted in 2023 due to Tyler’s vocal injury.
The event was nothing short of a rock and roll spectacle. Hosted at a packed venue, the night featured a rotating lineup of legendary guests including Cheap Trick’s Robin Zander, The Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson, ex-Guns N’ Roses drummer Matt Sorum, Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme, and more. They were later joined by James Lomenzo, Phil Xenidis (a.k.a. Phil X), Suzie McNeil, and longtime Aerosmith keyboardist Buck Johnson.
According to Aerosmith’s official set list posted on social media, the show opened with Zander rocking Cheap Trick classics like “Surrender” and “Dream Police,” followed by Robinson tearing through soulful Black Crowes staples such as “Remedy” and “Jealous Again.”
But the moment everyone was waiting for came when Tyler and Perry finally hit the stage together, launching into a blistering rendition of “Toys in the Attic.” Their five-song set included enduring anthems “Sweet Emotion,” “Walk This Way,” and the iconic “Dream On,” with Nuno Bettencourt and Matt Sorum joining in for the epic ballad. The night ended with a raucous all-star encore featuring “Train Kept a Rollin’” and a roof-raising cover of The Beatles’ “Come Together.”
This high-voltage reunion comes after Aerosmith’s farewell tour in 2023 was cut short. Though Tyler appeared at a charity show earlier this year, Perry wasn’t present, making this San Francisco gig the official return of the “Toxic Twins.”
Whether this is a one-off or the start of something more remains to be seen, but one thing’s certain — the legends still know how to bring the house down.
