The Nightmare Returns: Alice Cooper’s Original Band Reunites for The Revenge of Alice Cooper

Shock rock has never sounded so sweet. For the first time in over 50 years, the original Alice Cooper band — featuring Alice Cooper, Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunaway, and Neal Smith — is back in the studio with The Revenge of Alice Cooper, due out July 25 via earMUSIC.

The album marks the first new studio collaboration from the founding lineup since 1973’s Muscle of Love, and reunites the band with legendary producer Bob Ezrin, the man behind School’s Out, Killers, and Billion Dollar Babies. Ezrin calls the reunion “surreal,” noting that the chemistry between the members hasn’t aged a day: “They revert to who they were as kids when they first got together… and make music like they did 50-some years ago.”

Fittingly, The Revenge of Alice Cooper includes contributions from beyond the grave. The track “What Happened To You” was constructed around a riff from a long-lost Glen Buxton demo, and the bonus track “Return Of The Spiders 2025” remixes a classic from their 1970 record Easy Action.

The lead single, “Black Mamba”, debuts April 22 on Cooper’s syndicated radio show Alice’s Attic, and features a guest solo from Robby Krieger of The Doors — a collision of two icons who shaped rock’s darker edges.

Cooper described the project as feeling like “the next album after Muscle of Love, as if no time had passed.” While the album release is confirmed, the band is playing it cool about potential live appearances. Alice hinted at select one-off club dates in cities like Detroit, L.A., and London, but “not a full tour.”

The tracklist blends gory grooves with satirical stingers — “Crap That Gets In The Way Of Your Dreams”, “Famous Face”, and “Money Screams” sound tailor-made for a dystopian rock opera. And if that weren’t enough to summon the undead, two bonus tracks — “Return of the Spiders 2025” and “Titanic Overunderture” — serve as haunting throwbacks and eerie closers.

Formed in 1968, the Alice Cooper band shocked the world with its theatrical stagecraft and horror-infused anthems. Now, in 2025, they’re back to remind us why they earned the moniker “The Original Shock Rockers.”
