Bad Company Finally Land Rock Hall Induction: “A Long Time Coming”

After decades of anticipation and a career filled with timeless hits, Bad Company has officially been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The legendary band, responsible for classic rock anthems like “Can’t Get Enough,” “Feel Like Makin’ Love,” and “Shooting Star,” will finally be honored at the November 8 ceremony — and the surviving members are nothing short of elated.

“It is pretty amazing and very cool to be part of an iconic American institution that celebrates music, musicians and sometimes unsung heroes behind the scenes,” frontman Paul Rodgers told Billboard. For fans who have long championed Bad Company’s rightful place in the Hall, this moment is pure vindication.

Drummer Simon Kirke echoed the sentiment, adding, “It’s been a long time coming. I’m not taking anything away from the committee; they had their reasons, but it’s a welcome addition if you will.”

Although original guitarist Mick Ralphs, sidelined by a stroke in 2016, won’t be attending, he shared his joy via email: “I am elated and think Bad Company’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is fantastic.”

Rodgers and Kirke plan to perform during the ceremony, though specific details are still under wraps. Given Rodgers’ recent battles with health issues — including multiple strokes and heart problems — the performance promises to be an emotional highlight of the evening.

Bad Company had long been regarded as one of the Hall’s most glaring omissions, having influenced countless bands already enshrined. Even fellow rock heavyweights like Robert Plant, Alice Cooper, Ronnie Wood, and Neal Schon recently rallied behind their nomination. Sammy Hagar took his support a step further, recording a video alongside Rodgers to push their cause.

The band’s last full tour wrapped in 2019, and according to Kirke, Bad Company’s performing days are likely over. Yet with this overdue honor, their legacy is locked in forever.

A long time coming, indeed — and richly deserved.
