CHEVELLE Drops “Rabbit Hole (Cowards, Pt. 1)” and Announces Massive 2025 Tour
Get ready to dive deep—CHEVELLE is back and they’re pulling no punches. After a four-year musical silence, the Chicago alt-metal mainstays just dropped a blistering new track, “Rabbit Hole (Cowards, Pt. 1),” and it’s exactly the jolt fans have been craving. Packed with explosive riffs, snarling vocals, and a dissonant breakdown that slaps, this new single marks the official start of a new chapter for the band.
“Rabbit Hole” comes paired with a cryptic visualizer and a cheeky, very CHEVELLE-style message: “Put on your tinfoil hats, slam a Dunkies, and go deep doomscrolling.” Sounds about right.
But that’s not all. CHEVELLE is hitting the road this summer for a 38-city North American tour, bringing Asking Alexandria and Dead Poet Society along for the ride. Kicking off August 7 in San Antonio and wrapping October 2 in Washington state, the tour is being produced by Live Nation and will hit major cities like New York, Chicago, and L.A.
The new single is a preview of what’s to come from the band’s upcoming 10-track album—tentatively due later in 2025—marking their first release on Alchemy Recordings after parting ways with Epic. According to frontman Pete Loeffler, the process has been creatively intense. “It’s like pulling your hair out and trying to put it back in,” he joked. “You never want to pull the pin and throw the grenade because it just keeps getting better.”
With no current manager and complete creative control, CHEVELLE is writing, producing, and evolving on their own terms. Brother and drummer Sam Loeffler says the band is always “skewing toward heavy,” and promises this new material sounds “definitely different” than anything they’ve done before.
Their last album, Niratias, was a high-concept, sci-fi infused journey—and if “Rabbit Hole” is any indication, the next one will go even deeper into the darkness, with flashes of fury, introspection, and sonic evolution.
Welcome back, CHEVELLE. Let’s go down the rabbit hole.
