Dave Mason Pulls the Plug on 2025 Tour Amid Serious Health Setbacks

Classic rock icon Dave Mason has officially canceled all of his 2025 tour dates as he continues to recover from multiple serious health issues, including a life-threatening infection and a previously disclosed heart condition.

The 77-year-old musician, best known for his solo hit “We Just Disagree” and his work with seminal acts like Traffic and Fleetwood Mac, issued a heartfelt statement to fans explaining the difficult decision.

“With deep regret, I must cancel all tour dates for 2025 due to ongoing health issues stemming from the infection I had in March,” Mason wrote. “I’m incredibly grateful to my team of doctors—this has been challenging territory, to say the least.”

The infection comes just months after Mason was hospitalized in September 2024 when an “urgent heart condition” was discovered during a routine checkup. At the time, he postponed all upcoming shows with plans to reschedule in 2025. Sadly, that plan has now been shelved.

Mason continued: “A heartfelt thank you to all the fans, and to my family, band, agents and the venues who’ve waited patiently and supported me throughout this journey. Your kind messages have lifted my spirits more than words can express. Recovery is a long road. My love for you all runs deep.”

The last time fans saw Mason on stage was August 18, 2024, in Plainfield, Indiana, where he delivered a powerful set that included Traffic staples like “The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys” and “Dear Mr. Fantasy,” along with covers of Blind Faith and Bob Dylan classics.

In a year that was supposed to celebrate a full return to the road, Mason had also released his latest album, A Shade of Blues, and published his long-awaited memoir, Only You Know & I Know. Both projects have been praised for their depth and honesty, offering fans a window into the life and legacy of one of rock’s most enduring songwriters.

As Mason focuses on recovery, fans around the world are sending waves of support and hoping this isn’t a goodbye, but rather a well-earned pause.
