Ronnie Platt’s Battle and Triumph: Kansas Singer Shares Uplifting Health Update

Rock and resilience go hand in hand, and Kansas vocalist Ronnie Platt just proved that once again. After revealing his thyroid cancer diagnosis earlier this month, Platt underwent surgery to remove his thyroid, and now, he’s sharing some great news—he’s officially on the mend and ready to get back to rocking.

“I Am Home!”: Platt’s Triumphant Update

Taking to social media, Platt let fans know that his surgery was a massive success. “The doctor said my surgery couldn’t have gone any better!” he wrote. “I felt the power of everyone’s prayers and positive energy! You all have helped me [through] this. How do I, or can I, ever thank all of you for that!?”

Day one of recovery, and Platt is already thinking ahead—not just to singing, but to doing what he truly loves: performing and giving fans an escape from everyday life. “My true job is entertaining you all and helping you, at least for a couple hours, forget about your problems and recharge your batteries. I take a lot of pride in that!”

Platt closed his message with a signature nod to the band’s most legendary anthem: “Thank you all again, CARRY ON!!!!”

Back on the Road Soon

With Platt in recovery mode, Kansas is gearing up to resume their tour on April 4 in Ivins, Utah. The band has a full slate of dates running through November, including a summer co-headlining run with 38 Special, with support from Jefferson Starship, the Outlaws, and Dave Mason.

Kansas fans can rest easy knowing that Platt is determined to be back in top form when the band returns to the stage. If his latest update is any indication, the man is more than ready to keep carrying on.

Final Thoughts

Rock has always been about resilience, and Ronnie Platt just delivered a masterclass in strength. With his recovery on track and the road calling, Kansas is gearing up for another epic chapter. Fans, get ready—because the show goes on!
