Fans of the Prince of Darkness, rejoice! If you missed the unforgettable Back to the Beginning farewell concert this month, don’t hang up your leather jackets just yet. Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath’s iconic event is set to hit theaters in early 2026, thanks to Mercury Studios. The film, titled Back to the Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow, will condense the all-day rock marathon into a 100-minute cinematic experience.
As detailed in a recent press release, the film is nothing short of a love letter to Ozzy Osbourne and the trailblazing sound of Black Sabbath. Expect thunderous performances of classics like ‘War Pigs,’ ‘Iron Man,’ ‘Children of the Grave,’ and a show-stopping rendition of ‘Paranoid.’ With exclusive behind-the-scenes access and insightful interviews, this film promises to be a personal and electrifying farewell from the godfather of heavy metal.
The Back to the Beginning concert was more than just a show; it was a historic event. Drawing over 40,000 fans to Villa Park in Birmingham, England, the concert marked the first time in 20 years that the original Black Sabbath lineup—Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward—took the stage together.
A lineup of rock and metal titans like Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Pantera, and Anthrax joined the celebration, alongside various supergroups who paid tribute to the evening’s headliners by covering Black Sabbath and Ozzy classics.
The concert also made waves for its philanthropic efforts, raising a staggering $190 million for charities including Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Acorn Children’s Hospice, and Cure Parkinson’s, making it the highest-grossing charity concert ever, according to Billboard.
Fans can look forward to more than just the concert film. In a separate project, a documentary titled No Escape From Now will delve into Osbourne’s recent health challenges and his preparation for the monumental concert. This documentary will air on Paramount+ later this year. Additionally, the Prince of Darkness himself will release his second memoir, Last Rites, in October.
With so much to look forward to, Ozzy Osbourne’s legacy continues to shine brighter than ever. Stay tuned for more updates on the theatrical release and the upcoming memoir.
