Reba Meyers Delivers Deep Emotion on Solo Single “Got Your Hold On Me”
Reba Meyers, the genre-bending guitarist and co-vocalist of CODE ORANGE, has dropped another stirring solo single—“Got Your Hold On Me”—off her highly anticipated debut album due later this year. The dreamy, five-minute track expands on the raw vulnerability introduced in 2024’s “Certain Uncertainty,” and gives fans a deeper look at an artist unafraid to explore the painful nuances of being human.
“Being human is painful. Being human and in love with anything or anyone is even more painful,” Meyers said in a statement. “I hope we can all find what helps us cope without it killing us or turning us into emotionless robots. For me, writing songs helps.”
The track, self-produced by Meyers with mixing by Steve Evetts (The Cure, The Wonder Years) and mastering by Alan Douches, layers subtle distortion over melancholic vocals. It’s a sonic departure from the visceral energy of Code Orange, but no less intense. Emotionally rich and compositionally haunting, “Got Your Hold On Me” is the sound of an artist excavating truth.
Since the surprise release of “Certain Uncertainty,” critics have taken note of Meyers’ solo direction. Consequence praised it as “more subdued than Code Orange, but still heavy,” while Revolver called it “anthemic” and filled with “distortion-graced chords and yowl-rasped vocals.”
Meyers, currently touring as part of Marilyn Manson’s live band, is using this moment to reflect and express. “I have the space only now in my life to have a bird’s eye view on my adolescence,” she explained, adding that stepping into solo work has allowed her to be more vulnerable and explore her identity beyond the roles others have cast her in.
From fronting one of hardcore’s most visionary bands to becoming the first female signature artist in ESP guitar history, Reba Meyers is carving her own path—emotionally raw, artistically fearless, and unapologetically real.
Her debut full-length album is on the horizon, and if this track is any indication, it’ll be a journey well worth taking.
