Steve Perry Launches Charity Auction With Treasures From His Journey

Rock legend Steve Perry has cracked open the vault on decades of musical history to help victims of the recent Los Angeles wildfires that ravaged Altadena. Partnering with Darkives Collectibles — a new archival platform from Dark Horse Records — Perry is launching a special charity auction filled with over 50 one-of-a-kind items from his personal archive, with proceeds going directly to Sweet Relief Musicians Fund.

The auction reads like a fan’s fantasy: handwritten lyrics to “Don’t Stop Believin’” and “Faithfully,” platinum and gold record awards for Greatest Hits, signed test pressings of Escape, Frontiers, and Perry’s solo gem Street Talk, and vintage tour merch from Journey’s 1981 and 1984 runs. One especially nostalgic item is a signed “JRNEYFAN” license plate — a real plate tossed onstage by a fan and kept by Perry ever since.

“This is the right time to share these pieces from my archive,” said Perry. “These items hold deep personal meaning, but more importantly, they now have the chance to do some good. All proceeds will go toward supporting those impacted by the wildfires with the help of Sweet Relief.”

Dhani Harrison, CEO of Dark Horse Records and Darkives Collectibles, added: “Steve Perry’s generosity and legacy made him the ideal artist to launch this platform. Fans won’t believe the treasures available.”

The auction’s timing also coincides with Perry’s surprise duet of “Faithfully” with country icon Willie Nelson — a reimagined version of the Journey ballad recorded in both Nashville and Perry’s Love Box studio.

Sweet Relief’s executive director Aric Steinberg emphasized the lasting impact this fundraiser could have. “Musicians and industry workers hit hardest by the fires are still in urgent need. Steve’s heart has always been with the music community, and this effort is a beautiful example of that.”

Each auction item is authenticated and graded through Audio Media Grading (AMG), ensuring collectors are bidding on genuine artifacts of rock history.
